This discipline aims to give knowledge about matters relating to specific and general educational aspects of sports and physical activities.
In relation to their national programmers, contributes to the understanding of professional intervention focusing on the teaching of physical education in the secondary level (3rd cycle).
The analysis of "practice" in various sports and physical activities by the student is essential to make a pedagogic and scientific analysis about the different types of content and structuring in the teaching process.
At the same time, the student should demonstrate ability to perform pedagogical-scientific innovation.

Topics:
1. Objectives, contents and organization of sports and physical activities within the basic and secondary education;
2. The work session and the characteristcs of contents of the different physical activities and sports (individual sports, collective sports, combat sports, racquet sports, adventure sports, etc.);
3. Creating projects of methodological organization of/for the different sports and physical activities;
4. The analysis of "practice" and development of scientific research projects in the field of sports and physical activities;
5. Introduction to the study of 'systematic observation': theoretical aspects, functions and techniques, and observation instruments (GTS, SOCP, SOCA, SOFB, etc.), different methods of collecting and recording of data, observation of diagnostic, the training of observation.

1. General Aspects: The attendance of the student must be equal to or greater than 2/3 of practice lessons; the student is approved in the discipline with a positive overall rating (10 values or higher); cannot get a mark less than 7.5 in any assessment acts; an oral test is mandatory.
2. Specific Aspects: Individual report of analysis of teaching (simulated teaching, 50% of the final mark) and research work (individual or group up to a maximum of three elements, 30% of the final mark) as well as their presentations and defense (up to a maximum of 80% of the final mark); Assessment of the level of commitment (includes the assessment of simulated teaching and participation in all sessions of laboratory practice): 20% of the final mark.
3. Final Exam: a theoretical exam and a practical exam (if the student is not approved in the continuous assessment, points 1 and 2).
