The Dissertation is an oriented competence development of scientific research introductory level course. The development of skills inherent in this level of education will continue and deepen the 3rd cycle. This course specifically aims to qualify and prepare students for continuing their scientific training to the 3rd cycle (PhD) level.

The Dissertation is a course that works on tutorial system, under the responsibility of a teacher doctorate, with a limited number of vacancies. The Dissertation Proposal is open for individual teachers, presented annually to the Scientific Council, determining the theme, the minimum and maximum number of vacancies. The Dissertation must be a direct responsibility of the student before the supervisor, and a flexible mode of operation, because of the breadth of topics and processes approach to take.

The final dissertation is the subject of consideration and public discussion by a panel appointed by the Scientific Council of the FMH. The rating for the dissertation (0-20) can be assigned by the unanimity of the jury or, failing that, by averaging the ratings assigned by individual members of the jury.
