| Objectives: | The discipline is focused on the study of observation methods and techniques and measurement of behavior in childhood and adolescence. Students will try to identify the main instruments related to the systematic observation of child behavior from the perspective of development. Particular attention will be given to identifying problems associated with the design, implementation and recording of data, as well as the exemplification through direct and deferred observation. |

| Contents: | Human development in naturalistic contexts. Assessment Techniques: Techniques of systematic observation. Observation manual, audio, video-tape by computer. The observation of motor (molar and molecular), social, emotional and aggressive behavior. The terminology and definition of categories of action (molecular and molars). Observation of the play in child development. Limitations to the assessment of development through the use of techniques of observation. |

| Evaluation: | Continuous Assessment: 2 written tests (average > 10) or Final exam: 1 written test (>10 points). |
